Battle of the Bands Winners 2022: Fused from Bushey
Our Battle of the Bands Contest took place in Buntingford on Saturday 21st May 2022.
Three bands were shortlisted: Fused from Bushey, Jokerz from Tring and 9 Miles Between from Buntingford. Each band performed three songs which were a mixture of covers and their own material.
A panel of judges with professional experience in teaching, composing and performing in bands gave feedback to each band in turn. Their judging was made all the more difficult because the bands had pushed the bar even higher as each band's performance was far more polished and impressive than their original video submissions!
After much deliberation, the judges, represented by Alex Trenchard, founder of Standon Calling, selected Fused as the winning band. Luca on vocals, Jake on lead guitar, Sam on bass and Toby on drums gave a slick, tight, no holds barred performance of their three songs which wewrer greeted with rapturous applause.
They walk away with the top prize of an amazing day recording in the Music Bunker in Braughing with the multi-talented Martin Gimson. They will also open the Summer Arts in Buntingford evening event on Friday 17th June 2022 at Layston Court Gardens.
Congratulations to every band who submitted applications and especially to our three shortlisted bands. We wish you every success in the future.
First Prize
As winner of the Battle of the Bands competition, Fused will be given a day in the Music Bunker, Braughing to record their own compositions. The tracks will then be professionally mixed and mastered for each member of the winning band.
